Mechanism design for resource allocation: with applications to centralized multi-commodity routing
نویسندگان
چکیده
We formulate and study the algorithmic mechanism design problem for a general class of resource allocation settings, where the center redistributes the private resources brought by individuals. Money transfer is forbidden. Distinct from the standard literature, which assumes the amount of resources brought by an individual to be public information, we consider this amount as an agent’s private, possibly multidimensional type. Our goal is to design truthful mechanisms that achieve two objectives: maxmin and Pareto efficiency. For each objective, we provide a reduction that converts any optimal algorithm into a strategy-proof mechanism that achieves the same objective. Our reductions do not inspect the input algorithms but only query these algorithms as oracles.

Abstract Ad hoc Wireless Networks, are networks formed by a collection of nodes through radio. In wireless networking environment, formidable challenges are presented. One important challenge is connection maintenance mechanism for power consumption. In this paper, a multi-objective optimal design is considered for ad-hoc networks which address the electrical power of nodes effects on cross-l...
متن کاملModel and Solution Approach for Multi objective-multi commodity Capacitated Arc Routing Problem with Fuzzy Demand
The capacitated arc routing problem (CARP) is one of the most important routing problems with many applications in real world situations. In some real applications such as urban waste collection and etc., decision makers have to consider more than one objective and investigate the problem under uncertain situations where required edges have demand for more than one type of commodity. So, in thi...
متن کاملAsymptotic Close to Optimal Resource Allocation in Centralized Multi-band Wireless Networks
This paper concerns sub-channel allocation in multi-user wireless networks with a view to increasing the network throughput. It is assumed there are some sub-channels to be equally divided among active links, such that the total sum rate increases, where it is assumed each link is subject to a maximum transmit power constraint. This problem is found to be a non-convex optimization problem and i...

In this paper, we consider the mobility effect with a jointly optimal design of cross-layer congestion control, routing and scheduling for ad-hoc networks. We first formulate the rate constraint and scheduling constraint. In this way, we use multi-commodity flow variables. Then formulate resource allocation in networks with fixed wireless channel and single-rate devices. Because of entrance of ...

This research seeks to develop resource and goals allocation planning models in a focused decision-making environment with a parallel multi-component network structure in a case study. In such an environment, the problem of resource and goals allocation planning, the determination of the input and output of each of the decision-making units in achieving the goals of the system is such that the ...
